CHECK OUT THE Q&A BELOW TO SEE IF I CAN ANSWER SOME RIGHT OFF THE BAT!
What style of photography do you specialize in?
My style of photography is geared towards those who want to capture raw, real emotion and genuine moments. I shoot in natural light, primarily, but can provide alternate lighting solutions for any tricky lighting situations, should they arise. As far as sessions go, I do primarily specialize in SENIORS & WEDDINGS, but don't let that steer you away. I also shoot corporate portraits, boudoir, fashion, families, and more.
What equipment do you use?
I use all professional Nikon cameras with Nikon lenses. An extensive amount of research goes into every piece of equipment I use, in order to give my clients the best possible product. After shooting, I edit everything with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom on a Mac computer.
How long will it take to get my pictures?
I always allow 2 weeks at the most for any 1-hour sessions or less, and 4 weeks at the most for any weddings/events. However, the turnaround time on photos is really going to depend on the type of session, and which package you purchase. For example, the bottom-line MINI SESSIONS are going to be the quickest in turnaround time versus the largest wedding package.
Why don't you post prices on your website or social media?
I never want anyone to be intimidated by my business based on a price. My business is designed to appeal to clients who are wanting an experience, not just posed pictures. Professional photographs are an investment, no matter what your specific photo needs are. It's something you should feel excited about, rather than stressed. It's for that reason that I contact my clients personally to discuss pricing.
If you are seriously interested in booking, we'll get together over Skype or over a cup of coffee to discuss what your vision is, and what would be the best option for you -- and your budget.
What are the restrictions for sharing photos online or for publication? Do you own the copyright to the photos?
My pictures are copyrighted, but that doesn't prevent you from sharing with friends and family! When your pictures are done, you will receive a password-protected online gallery (in addition to any other delivery methods you select), and you'll be provided with a pin number to download the images. You are welcome to share them on any social media site, but you MUST give credit to Stephanie Hardwick Photography, either by tagging or writing it in the caption.
How long have you been in the business of photography?
It's no secret that I am a young photographer. I started my business officially in 2014. Since then, I've built it from the ground up, and put countless hours (+ literal blood, sweat and tears) into growing it into what you see today. I definitely didn't do it alone. I've had the privilege of working alongside several talented photographers over the years, and it is only through their support, the support of my family, friends and my Lord, that I am able to do this.
What motivates you to continue taking pictures?
The process, honestly, is what motivates me to keep doing it. I love it. Meeting new people, capturing their special moments and watching their face light up when they see the pictures is so rewarding in and of itself. I am always amazed when I complete a photo session or a wedding and get the pictures sent off. To think that I actually get to do something this fun, as a job, is so humbling. It’s a rich experience like no other, and that's what keeps me going.
