Sarai and I had been discussing her STYLED session for a while. We talked about the general "look" we wanted to go for and came up with a few ideas, but when Kentucky got its first beautiful, fluffy snow of the year, I texted Sarai immediately and said, "Girl, we HAVE to shoot in the snow."
For the location, we walked through the beautiful snow-covered forrest I'm blessed enough to call my backyard, looking for perfect photo spots. The sun even peeked through the trees for a few shots, giving the scene a warm glow.
Sarai's outfit choice was perfect! Her adorable burgundy knit hat stood out amongst the pure white canvas behind her, and her olive coat was the perfect contrast to her sweet, brown eyes and long curly locks.
After shooting the first look, we hiked down to a stunning frozen waterfall for the rest of the shots. It is honestly one of the coolest locations I've had the privilege of shooting at; and it's a 5 minute walk from my house.
Then we came inside, made cinnamon hot chocolate and looked at some of the raw shots from the day. To be able to shoot in a unique location and invite good friends in to my home is a raw, real experience I'm so glad I got to share with Sarai.
